Mathijs van Geest is an artist and curator moving freely between techniques, collaborations and initiatives.
His projects are often the result of small moments of non-alignment, non-compliance and a certain unwillingness taking place in everyday life.
With a background in graphic design, Mathijs van Geest completed a Master of Fine Art in Bergen, Norway. He co-runs (together with Bjørn Mortensen) the independent publishing platform Apis Press, which has a focus on limited artist books and editions.
Since 2018 Mathijs van Geest is director of Hordaland kunstsenter, a regional art centre in Bergen, Norway.
